Summit is an independent, family-run business spanning 3 generations and has been established for over 37 years.

The company is committed to an ongoing programme of design and development and is supported by a loyal team of skilled employees, many having clocked up more than 25 years’ service.
Our dedicated team of development engineers is constantly looking for ways to improve the time/cost efficiency of hydraulic related products for the plant industry.

This commitment has helped establish Summit as one of the most innovative hydraulics companies in Europe.

Summit Equipment Supplies is based on the Clover Nook Industrial Estate in the small Derbyshire town of Somercotes.

John Parkinson established Summit Equipment Supplies in 1979 after spending 20 years working on the sales side of the plant industry.

During this time John recognised the need for ancillary hydraulic equipment and attachments to improve the versatility and efficiency of plant equipment. He was then the first person to import Montabert hydraulic hammers to the UK. His vision materialised when he founded Summit and the UKs first dedicated mobile plant company was born.

Founder, John Parkinson, retired at the turn of the century and handed over the reins to son, Allan, who is now ably assisted by his two sons, James and Tom.

The product development side of the business expanded rapidly and Summit became the pioneers of hydraulic attachment development, a field which it still leads today.
